Literature review on personnel selection
Abstract. The existing literature on employee selection contains an abundance of knowledge about how selection should take place, but almost nothing about how it takes place in practice. This article presents a real-time ethnomethodological and analytical study of how selection decisions are made in situ. The main findings suggest this selection. In this review, we explore these distinctions in more precise terms, describe the game design and development processes needed to create a game-based functional assessment, describe theoretical and practical concerns related to using or adding of game mechanics in traditional assessment methods, and present assessment guidelines. We recently published an article in which we highlighted a number of problems associated with the use of self-assessment personality tests in personnel selection contexts Morgeson et al. 2007. Both Ones, Dilchert, Viswesvaran and Judge 2007 and Tett and Christiansen 2007 have written responses to this article.
