Macbeth felt guilty and scared by what he saw, so he visited the three witches again. The witches told him three things. First, “you shall not be killed by a man born of a woman.” Second, “beware of Macbeth” and third, “you shall not die until the trees of the forest come to you.” Banquo's descendants are always destined to become great leaders. Lady Macbeth insists that she is just as guilty as he is and tells him to face his guilt in silence. Thus, after the murder, Macbeth no longer attempts to cope with his guilt by accepting his sins and his new “darkness”. He asks that “the night of the sky hide the tender eye of the pitiful day.”
